Positive lock
Arriving at her chosen home system Lise prepared for the long shift. The system was quiet and free from the hustle of industrialist and the like, Low security systems are a dangerous place away from gates and stations. Few people populate these systems because of that reason.
Lise began to scan down her system for cosmic signatures. Finding a position out of scanning range she deployed a mobile depot and offloaded some cargo. Lise did a background check of the area and found there to be a low report of kills, especially scanner kills. This was good news, some scanners did there research, a system full of kills and core scanner probes wouldn’t be good for business.
Having found no data or relic sites within her system, Lise explored the pocket and nearby systems, scanning and saving sites as she went. Finding a relic site in a system close by Lise plotted bookmarks and found herself a nice scout spot a safe distance from the site. Lise had also plotted a location just out of decloaking range of one of the cans.
Lise stayed in that spot for a short while, seeing no interest and minimal movement in space she moved on to check the pocket bookmarks
Jumping into the next system, Lise immediately saw a Magnate on her scan, and core scanner probes!!! Excited and blood thirsty Lise warped to a random site bookmark. Only to find the Magnate at 70km, approaching the last can of the site. Lise’ implants tingled, Like putting your tongue on a cap battery. She frantically shoved the throttle lever forward, it was a race to the can. The magnate was closing fast and doing 2500mps! Lise was 55km from the can as the magnate’s analyzer lit up the can in a blue light. Lise knew she wouldn’t have long if she wanted to grab that kill, impatiently she decloacked the little Astero. frack! Go go go!! Lise engaged her microwarp drive striving to reach the magnate. The Scanning ship suddenly changed heading and started burning away, at 26km Lise might of had a chance with a warp disruptor, but she hadn’t one fitted. The Magnate dropped velocity and warped, disappearing from view, a small thud followed its departure. Lise cursed Korgyll for his fitting and re engaged her cloak, dissapearing back into the shadows before retreating back to her system,
Lise Took perch back on her origional site, keeping an eye on the system but feeling a little demoralized. Lise reflected on her engagement, Did she need a different fit? Was it her?.
Suddenly, an inflation in local, Core scanner probes on scan. Lise sat up in her seat, her eyes darted from screen to screen as she narrowed the scan and anticipated something in site, nothing but scanner probes.... They got closer and closer on her scanner.
Lise’s implants began to irritate her again, she ignored it, eyes still glued to her screens.
A short while later, Just as Lise was wondering if anything was going to actually happen, an Astero decloaked, two cans from Lise’s position, and the can she was sat on, Lise had a little time, She was on edge, excited. But she was determined to have this one, same ship or not!. She tried to focus and quickly contacted her agent, finding the Astero pilot to be a regular scanner, his record showed devout scanning ships, with hardly any tank, and a lack in successful engagements “poor guy”Lise smiled, predicting he would not be combat fit Lise set her scanners to long range anticipating back up and returned her focus to the Astero, whom had just began to approach her. Lise waited, The Astero hit the can on its approach, and lit up the can as the Magnate had previously done, Ensuring the ship had come to a full stop, Lise decloaked, engaged her microwarp drive and headed fast to Her target, ordering her drones into space before attempting to lock her target...Drones go go!!!, positive lock, engage scram,
Lise saw her drones surround the Astero, barraging it with fire, the Astero was going nowhere...Almost!.
In 20% armor the Astero pilot saw he had a very low chance of escape and deployed its mish mash drones, attempting to retaliate, a low grade hornet and a vespa drone headed towards Lise and started fire. Lise’s Astero seemed to Laugh at the attempt, taking a mere 2% damage before The scanners Astero exploded! an implode of yellow and red light lit up the interior of lise’s cockpit success!! Feeling Excited, Lise was forgetting the rules of low security space, She attempted a positive lock on the capsule ejected from the wreck. Positive lock, scram, drones go!!...see ya, punk! Lise looted the wreck, this was the moment of truth...50,000,000isk not bad for sitting on my butt
Lise had done what she wanted to do, and she loved It, it was a new approach to combat, a safer approach! Lise’s console pinged, a new notification from Concord?! Oh shit...Lise read the Mail.
She felt a little regret for the security status she had lost, but she was still safe in high sec, it wasn’t to big a deal she thought, she could build it back up.
Lise pushed the thought to the back of her mind and headed to her mobile depot to drop her loot. Cloaking and slinking back into the shadows of space as she left.
Arriving at the depot, Lise anticipated calling it a night, but she remembered the site she had just left, there was still isk in that site, and she wasn’t about to be waiting for another target so late in the day. She fitted an analyzer and headed back to the site, she decloaked and ejected a container of carbon, a product of near no value or use. Lise headed to the remaining cans. Keeping and eye on her scanner she hacked into the three remaining cans successfully. Feeling rewarded and satisfied Lise returned to her system to call it an evening. After all she had it all to do again the next day.
