Life of Lise
Good Day!! I have decided to post my little fiction string on a Monday, hopefully people around the world can rejoice at fiction to pass the 50 minute Monday toilet break :). I am keeping busy both in my FW and my personal flying ill update this week!!.
For now, enjoy :)
Lise moon o7
Lise woke early the next morning, she felt energetic and refreshed. It was a relief, nothing but sleepless nights and nightmares had tormented her for months, even more so when she stayed in the stations quarters. It was another reason she enjoyed her scanning trips.
Lise wandered down to the maintenance bay after a quick look over her e-notes, she had packed for her trip the evening before “Drugs?...check, Paste?... Check, Ammo...Check” she went on. Lise had also spent a considerable amount of time planning her route, and where she would stalk her prey. It was important to find somewhere quiet but not deserted, To hone her skills in this new line of attack, the area needed to be close to home and far enough away from the war zones, but no so far as to be unable to return if there where a call to arms.
“Morning Korg!” *thud* “ARGH! FRACKIN BLOOD SHIPS!” Korgyll slid out from an open panel on the side of the Astero rubbing his head before bolting the panel back shut and slumped over the scaffold railing that surrounded the Astero. “Finally” He stated sounding relieved. “...And just in time by tha looks of it” Korgyll clambered down the scaffold, lit a cigarette and stood by Lise looking at the ship. “she’s dual rep now huni!!, an that wern’t a cheap do!” Korgyll stated with a proud announcement. “yer usual selection o drones, and I fit er a dual point to make sure the bastards don’t core stab ya” Lise’s face attempted to hold back a smile” a childish squeal of excitement was swallowed. “ I’m gonna stay close!” Lise assured immaturely, “should be within comms range throughout”. Lise was fumbling impatiently, attempting to fasten closed a small container. “And I don’t plan on engaging for the first couple of days” Korgyll nodded “she’s ur ship huni, just be careful.”
Korgyll often stayed in stations and maintained Lise’s vast fleet, tinkering and repairing. It was essential to have doctrine ships ready to go at a fleet commanders broadcast. Lise had tutored Korgyll in manual flying too, being a station worker, it would probably have serious consequences for Lise if concord where to stop the ship and find no capsule, and a warm blood at the helm but concord scan your cargo hold, they don’t happen to check who is piloting the ship, unless your stupid enough to be stopped for, a. Carrying illegal materials. b. Being suspicious c. Criminal activity and Korgyll did none of this. The freedom of flying meant korgyll could attend to ships in other stations at short notice, rather than having to take interbus shuttles, which are not the nicest, or most reliable source of travel to say the least.
Lise climbed up the stairs to her capsule, lauching her container through the split pod once she could reach. “ Ill keep in touch Korgie!” Lise yelled, Korgyll shoved his cigarette in the corner of his mouth and gave a wave as he turned and shuffled back towards the main part of the station, Probably for a swift drink at the club before calling it a day.
Lise’s capsule hissed and the split door closed, slowly removing Lise from view. The pod silently auto docked in the Astero as Lise secured her container close by her.
She Tapped, swiped and pressed buttons on her data pad as a whirring sound vibrated though the ship and picked up pace. The Astero began to blinker, lighting up the enormous walls in the docking bay. One more switch and the engines roared into life, the ship slowly levitated above its maintenance structure and span to face the exit. Lise put in a request for an undock tow and set her route in her computers, she looked at the sytems recent activity. studying her pocket of systems And its statistics.
The ship was suddenly grapppled by a huge drone. the docking bot was clearly Caldari Engineering, it towered above the little Astero, a dull, oily grey, it was about twice the size of the little frigate and looked like it had taken part in the construction of the actual station!, it looked ancient, rust plagued the edges of its panels and it was followed by a small drop of coolant every few thousand meters. Lise casually broke engross in her data pad, and glanced over the helm at the bot “Jheez” she mumbbled “ that things smokes more than korgyll” she watched the bot haul her out of the maintenance hanger, she was used to this in the caldari stations. It dragged The Astero effortlessly through the vast tunnels in the station and pushed it out through the atmosphere shields and into open space. Lise double checked her route and engaged auto pilot, Ten jumps to Lise’s chosen location however, still within sight of Concord and rules. Lise had to be careful. Making herself comfortable she set at reading some skill books to kill the time.
